These photos are of a river in a park near my house. I took the first because I liked the pattern the wind made on the water. I took the second because I found a small secluded spot on the edge of the water that I liked. Also, you can see the rocks just under the surface and the branches just above, which creates an interesting balance. I am trying to create a feeling of calmness its these photos.
I took these photos at a marshy area in a park. I took the first one because I liked the cattails that were slowly releasing their seeds to the wind and how they looked against the blue sky. I took the second because I liked the intense colors reflected by the water during sunset. There were some birds in the area, but I couldn't photograph them very clearly, unfortunately. With these photos, I was trying to evoke a feeling of beauty being everywhere, even if sometimes we don't pay attention to it.
I took these photos of a small hill in a forested area. I liked the slope of the hill and the small patches of grass growing on it. I took the first one because I liked the small tree growing on the slanted surface. I took the second because I found an interestingly textured fallen branch on the ground by the hill. With these photos, I waned to convey a feeling of growth from the past, since the hill itself was made from old and dead plants that new plants can grow from.
I took these photos in a field in a park. I took the first one specifically of the leaves and grass of the ground because I thought it looked interesting as it became part of the cycle of life and death. I took the second more specifically of a plant I found growing there because I liked the texture of it. Since it seems that Spring is only just now coming, there were a lot more dead and brown plants than living and green plants, and I wanted to photograph that. With these photos, I wanted to convey a feeling of tiredness after a long winter.
I took these photos of a patch of flowers in the woods in a park. I took the first at a low height because I thought it was an interesting change of perspective. I took the second to show how colorful they were and how much space they took up. I liked seeing the patch of color it a otherwise mostly monochromatic place. With these photos, I wanted to convey the feeling of excitement for Spring.
