Since orange is my favorite color, I chose to photograph this orange. I had to figure out how to photograph the orange in adequate lighting while also not having a distracting background. To solve this problem, I put a piece of paper as the background, and I placed the orange out of the direct sunlight, but close enough to still have light on it. I also liked the circular shape of the orange, so I wanted to have a photograph that showed its shape. I think that my photos captured this well.
I took a photo of this music box to represent my love of music; I play cello and I played piano when I was younger. I also like it because my mom gave it to me. It is pretty small, so I had a hard time to get my camera to focus on it. I liked the shadow on the paper, too, since it is has many details. I like the metal in the sun, too.
I took these photos because I wanted to show the passage of time on an object. I chose to photograph bananas because we had some yellow bananas and some browning bananas. It was hard to decide how to arrange the banana peel, but I think that what I ended up with looks good. I like the shadows under the banana, too. I like the idea of photographing things that show how things fade in time.
I took these photos to represent my love of nature. I had some difficulty getting my camera to focus on the small plant, but eventually managed to do so. I like how the plant looks compared to the rough dirt underneath it. I also like the shadow of the plant and how it is relatively long compare to the actual plant. The plants, though small and fragile, will persevere and continue growing.
I photographed this apple because I liked its coloring. In the light, it had some patterns of bright reds and yellows that looked interesting. It also can represent academic work. I want to succeed in school and beyond, and an apple could represent this. I like the lighting in these photos, too.
